Whether you are planning to vote by mail or to vote in person, now is the time to act. If you are voting by mail, know that the USPS is already operating slowly and new regulations abolishing overtime and ordering distribution centers to slow down will make it even slower. New York State has still not finished counting absentee ballots, and the primary election was a month ago.

You can apply for your Ohio absentee ballot today. If you have a printer, print your application, fill it out and mail it in to your County Board of Elections. Franklin County’s address is P.O. Box 182111, Columbus, OH 43218-2111. You will receive confirmation. Ballots will be printed and mailed October 6. If you do not have a printer, you can make a written request to your County Board of Elections. The information you need to include in your request is on the Secretary of State’s website. You also can pick up a printed form at the back door of the church.

You can vote early from October 6th to November 2nd. In Franklin County you vote at 1700 Morse Road, Columbus, OH 43229 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on November 2 when voting ends at 2 p.m. (map link)
Poll workers are desperately needed. Many of the regular poll workers are elderly and don’t want to work as long as the virus is around. If you are young and healthy, can get off work, and are willing to volunteer, you can sign up online to be a precinct election official. There is a small stipend for your work.
