Mike Kaizar

Michael Kaizar is a Columbus-based blockprint artist whose bold, hand-carved imagery blends craft with playful, mythic storytelling. He began printing during the early COVID-19 pandemic, growing from YouTube tutorials to classes at the Cultural Arts Center. What started as experimentation quickly became a dedicated practice. Working primarily in linoleum, he hand-pulls prints featuring sea life, nature, and imaginative creatures. 

After early neighborhood sales, Michael moved into markets and fairs, including the 2025 Columbus Winterfair Emerging Artists Program, and now exhibits in multiple festivals and juried events. In 2026, he became a full member of the Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative. He continues to expand his reach through larger festivals, regional travel, and inclusive workshops that open printmaking to new audiences.

Elly Kaizar

Elly Kaizar is a Columbus-based artist who is inspired by the rituals and iconography of faith, her personal history, daily interactions, and local events.  She has dabbled in various media throughout her life, and most recently has embraced printmaking. She enjoys exploring various techniques and playing with the light and dark contrasts created by the interplay of ink and paper.

In 2026, she joined the Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative and is dedicated to carving out more time for creating.  Her work has appeared in two Phoenix Rising group shows:  Pressure Points at the German Village Society Meeting House, July – O
