Local artist Kris Worthington has a beautiful show up in the sanctuary. Kris Worthington is a mixed-media artist based in Delaware,Ohio, whose practice spans art quilts,fiber constructions and watercolor. Formerly an OB-Gym Nurse Practitioner and owner of Artistically Bent-a Short North Gallery, Worthington brings a deep sense of care,precision,and narrative to her visual work. Her fiber art incorporates dyed & painted fabrics, layered stitching and found embellishments such as beads,bones and fossils, creating richly tactile surfaces that explore emotions,memory and spirit. In watercolor, she continues this exploration through layered color,abstraction, and observation of the natural world. Worthington’s work has been exhibited regionally and is represented by Hammond Harkins Galleries in Columbus, Ohio. She is a member of the Ohio Art League. Artist’s Statement

As an artist I am driven to explore the intricate relationship between nature and humanity. My work seeks to provoke thought and evoke emotion, inviting viewers to engage with the world around them in a deeper more meaningful way. I work in either watercolor or fabric. Each artwork is a reflection of my personal experiences, observations, imagination and the stories that shape our collective experiences. Through my art I aim to challenge perceptions and encourage reflection. I believe in the power of art and that it may foster some connection with oneself and the larger world. I find inspiration from nature,other artists, humanity, I continuously seek to expand my understanding and technique. My creative process is both intuitive and experimental, allowing for moments of spontaneity and careful consideration. Ultimately, my art is a journey-one that I hope to share with others. I invite viewers to step into my world and discover their interpretations, fostering a shared experience that transcends individual perspectives. Thank You for taking the time to engage in my work.
