This Sunday will be our first ever Deanery pulpit swap. Priests throughout the Columbus area will be preaching and celebrating at each other’s parishes. Karl will be at Trinity on Capitol Square. We are very fortunate to have the Reverend Jed Dearing coming to St. Stephen’s. Jed joined Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square on January 1st, 2022 as Associate Rector. He was ordained in 2020 after completing his Masters of Divinity at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkely, CA. He served his clergy residency from 2020-21 at St. Francis in Springboro, Ohio before returning home to Columbus. Jed entered the Episcopal Church via the street church service of St. John’s Franklinton while living as part of an intentional Christian community in 2009. This began a church/community partnership that catalyzed both an urban farm and bicycle co-operative before Jed joined the staff of St. John’s to launch a branch of the Episcopal Service Corps in the neighborhood. Jed, along with his wife Raine and two toddler boys, Llewyn and Reynolds, enjoy every opportunity to discover new playgrounds around the city before Jed & Raine recover with a movie.
