The Season of Creation, September 1st through October 4th, is celebrated by Christians around the world as a time for renewing, repairing and restoring our relationship to God, one another, and all of creation. The Episcopal Church joins this international effort for prayer and action for climate justice and an end to environmental racism and ecological destruction. The 2023 theme is Let Justice and Peace Flow. In celebrating the Season, we are invited to consider anew our ecological, economic, and political ways of living.

At St. Stephen’s, we will be celebrating the season through preaching and liturgy. We will be using the authorized Season of Creation Celebration Guide, which you can view by clicking here. Every Sunday we will hear from a parishioners about their own Creation Care practices.

We are also tremendously privileged to host Elliott Bush’s Creation Care blog on our website. This blog has been used by school children, churches, and other institutions across the country. It is recommended reading for all Christians who are committed to doing something about climate change and dedicating themselves to creation care practices.
